Things have been very tight just recently money wise. I've managed to scrape enough together for the bills and food but for me personally there has been nothing left for luxeries, like new clothes, or evenings out.I don't go out much anyway but had to refuse those invites I had.
The kids pay their way, neither are in well paid jobs, but they help all they can,and I make sure they can treat themselves, its only fair.
I commented to the boy, my daughters fiancee, that I needed new shoes for work soon but they'd have to wait.I wear mens ankle boots because they support a foot I damaged falling downstairs.He asked if I'd seen any, and i said yes, theres a clearance shop with some really good bargains.
Today I got a text from him, he'd paid his usual rent/board money into my account.......and he'd paid extra as well so I could get the shoes....because I deserve a treat....
I don't cry much but confess to just a little tear on this one. |
